Sacred Music Coordinator, M.A.-Organ Performance, Indiana University of Pennsylvania B.M. – Sacred Music, ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ University; American Guild of Organists, Presbyterian Association of Musicians, American Guild of English HandBell Ringers, Choristers Guild. As an undergrad at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ, Michael participated in Symphonic Winds, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers and the Westmoreland Choral Society. He completed a Bachelor degree in Sacred Music, while also pursuing a dual degree in Music Education, graduating magna cum laude. During that time he studied piano with Maria Caruso, voice with Curt Scheib, and organ with Edgar Highberger. A Master of Arts degree was completed under Carol A. Teti, at IUP where he also studied choral conducting with James Dearing. The sole focus of his career has been as a church musician, serving as Director of Music and Organist. He has served several churches including: First Presbyterian Church, Greensburg; Baldwin United Methodist Church, Pittsburgh and The Latrobe Presbyterian Church, Latrobe. In addition to organ master classes and coaching sessions, Mr. Long has participated in many choral ensembles directed by: Herbert Böck, Brady Allred, Robert Page, Craig Jessop, John Rutter, Timothy Sharp, James Jordan, Constantina Tsolainou, Eric Nelson, Marvin Huls, Sigrid Johnson, Tom Trenney, André Thomas, John Alexander, David Davidson, Sandra Willetts, Dennis Keene, Andrew Shenton and the Berkshire Choral Festival. He has served on the executive board of the Greensburg AGO Chapter as well as Sub-Dean and Dean. In the community he actively supports the arts by serving on various committees of the Greater Latrobe School District’s Art Conservation Trust and Partners in Education Foundation.
