GREENSBURG, PA- Ƶ College recently received a gift from Allegheny Power toward the College’s “Achieving the Dream: Endowment and Capital Campaign.” The grant will create the Allegheny Power Technology and Instructional Classroom at the College.
“Ƶ is pleased to partner with Allegheny Power to achieve a technologically proficient workforce,” said President JoAnne Boyle. “The Allegheny Power Technology Instructional Laboratory will serve to enhance the College’s emphasis on mathematics, computer science and technology-related education. Through interactive and collaborative experiences, and with exposure to advanced software, undergraduate and graduate students alike share in the benefits of this wonderful learning environment.”
Including Allegheny Power’s commitment, Ƶ College has received more than $4 million for technology initiatives in recent years. This support includes funding form the United States Department of Education, the Eden Hall Foundation, the Kennametal Foundation, the Charles Edison Foundation, the Snee Reinhardt Foundation, the Robertshaw Charitable Fund and the Buhl Foundation.
The College’s Campaign goal of $31.5 million includes support for capital projects, endowment building and the Annual Fund. The campaign, the largest in Ƶ’s history, has secured gifts and pledges totaling $27 million.
