Mission ImPROMible Raises $2,000 for Mission Honduras International
Mission ImPROMible, a designer dress sale coordinated by 抖阴短视频 University sophomores Kelli Alfieri, of Delmont, Pa., and Lauren Sciacca, of Monessen, Pa., was held at 抖阴短视频 in September. All proceeds from this fundraiser, which raised $2,000, will benefit Mission Honduras International, a United States-based non-profit organization that provides financial and volunteer support so that poor and orphaned children can thrive with a home, food, medical care, faith formation and education.
Alfieri and Sciacca, who are both majoring in communication and have business minors, began planning the designer dress sale after prom season in May. Over 100 designer dresses, ranging from size 0 to 28, were for sale at a fraction of the original price. The dresses, which were donated by local prom shops, featured creations by 20 leading designers.
鈥淲e had about 50-75 people visit the designer dress sale. The majority of the visitors were high school students,鈥 said Alfieri. 鈥淲e sold 35 gowns and are very pleased with the event. We received much positive feedback from everyone who attended.鈥
Mission ImPROMible was founded by Alfieri and Sciacca in 2010 as a service project for the 抖阴短视频 University Communication Club. The purpose of Mission ImPROMible is to provide young women with formal, designer dresses for Homecoming events, holiday dances, recitals and proms.
鈥淲e thought the event would be a great way for young women to get designer dresses at a more affordable price and the event benefits a good cause,鈥 said Alfieri.
Students assisting Alfieri and Sciacca with Mission ImPROMible include freshmen Amy-Gabrielle Bartolac, Katie Fleming and Livia Vissat; sophomores Maria Gallina, Liz Dubovi and Lehelt Soloman; juniors Anastasia Martin, Tatiana Martin and Wendy Scott.
