Ƶ U. Dance Academy Presents “Pixie Dust” 12/17-12/19

Ƶ University’s Dance Academy will present “Pixie Dust,” Friday, December 17, at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, December 18, at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., and Sunday, December 19 at 1 p.m. The dance production will be performed in the William Granger Ryan Theatre, which is located in Ƶ University’s Performing Arts Center, 100 Harrison Avenue, in Greensburg, Pa. Dancers ranging from ages 5-18 will perform dance styles including classical ballet, pointe, tap and contemporary jazz and modern.

“Pixie Dust” is choreographed by Ƶ University Community Arts dance instructors Lori Incardona and Nicholas Falcone. Cathy Campbell of Greensburg, Pa. designed the set. Ƶ University technical staff for the production includes TaMara Swank, assistant professor of theatre, and Ken Clothier, assistant professor, theatre, sound designer and lighting designer.

Venue Information: All Ƶ University Dance Academy performances are held in the William Granger Ryan Theatre in Ƶ’s new Performing Arts Center, 100 Harrison Avenue, Greensburg, Pa. The Performing Arts Center is accessible and climate-controlled facility. Parking is available in four nearby Greensburg parking areas: the Bell Parking Garage on North Otterman Street (across the street from the Performing Arts Center), the Hellman-Ghrist lot on North Main Street, the Albert Grillo lot on Ƶ Drive, and the Wib Albright lot off West Otterman Street.

The Ƶ University Dance Academy is part of the Community Arts Program at Ƶ University which offers lessons and classes in music and dance for people of all ages. The Dance Academy offers group classes and private lessons in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, hip-hop and modern, a program for home-schooled students and the Diamonds Competitive Team. The Community Music Program offers private music lessons and ensembles with Ƶ University faculty members, community instructors, and student instructors. The Community Music Program also coordinates the Youth Honors Band and Winds 'N Jazz in June summer residence camp.
