Ƶ University Center for Orthodontics Celebrates One Year Anniversary
Second Class Starts on July 5
The Ƶ University Center for Orthodontics celebrates its one year anniversary on Tuesday, July 5, and will welcome its second class of seven residents and three fellows.
After one year of operation, the Center for Orthodontics has served 525 patients under the direction of Donald J. Rinchuse, D.M.D., Ph.D., program director, and Daniel J. Rinchuse, D.M.D., Ph.D., associate program director.
According to Dr. Donald Rinchuse, “We have seen the greatest impact on serving middle income families who have multiple children who are in need of orthodontic treatment. Also, somewhat unexpected, we have seen a significant number of patients who are upper middle class who want quality service at a reasonable cost. Our patients receive quality care in a modern facility equipped with the best technology from residents who are under the supervision of board certified orthodontics. We also have ample, convenient, free parking.”
The Center for Orthodontics began operations with 13 residents representing 13 states and three fellows from Washington, D.C., New Jersey and Quebec. The residents have a variety of interests outside of their academic study. One resident was a University of Georgia Georgette while another resident is a professional ballroom dancer. A professionally certified tennis instructor and pianist are also part of the group. This diverse group of residents will graduate from Ƶ University in December 2012.
Ƶ’s Orthodontics Program, the newest addition to the University’s signature degree program in the health sciences, combines advanced instruction in biomedical and clinical sciences with teaching, research and clinical experiences to prepare dental school graduates to provide the best orthodontic and dentofacial care according to standards established by the American Board of Orthodontics.
Program residents, who have already earned a D.D.S. or D.M.D., complete a 30 month program directed by board certified, practicing orthodontists Donald J. Rinchuse, D.M.D., Ph.D., program director, and Daniel J. Rinchuse, D.M.D., Ph.D., associate program director. Limited enrollment in the program provides every resident with personal support and dedicated instruction. Upon completion of the Orthodontics Program at Ƶ University, residents will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to engage in quality and contemporary orthodontic practice, and provide patient care in an ethical, compassionate and socially responsible manner.
