Ƶ Alumni Host Day of Reflection Retreat on March 10

“Welcoming the Stranger: Seeking Grace in Every Moment” Features Presentations by Sister Vivien Linkhauer and Sister Susan Jenny

What: Ƶ University and the Ƶ University Alumni Association are hosting the 2018 Day of Reflection program “Welcoming the Stranger: Seeking Grace in Every Moment,” a retreat featuring guest speakers Sister Vivien Linkhauer and Sister Susan Jenny. The event, which is open to the public, includes a buffet lunch.

When: Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Who: Vivien Linkhauer, S.C., Ph.D. completed 10 years as the Provincial Superior/President of the United States Province of the Sisters of Charity of Ƶ in 2012. She now serves as the Vice President for Mission and Identity at Ƶ University. Sister Vivien earned her bachelor’s degree in French from Ƶ and her master’s and doctoral degrees in French on an NDEA Fellowship from Tufts University in Medford, Mass. Her academic interests today include the French School of Spirituality and work on the Advisory Committee of the Elizabeth Ann Seton Writings Project.

Susan Jenny, S.C., a Ƶ alumna, has been an educator for her 59 years as a Sister of Charity. At Ƶ, she served in the Theology department, as Dean of Students and in Campus Ministry. She also presented Diocesan programs for lay leadership, pastoral councils and ongoing faith formation. She has served on parish staffs, given retreats and written on topics in spirituality. She currently serves on the leadership team of the Sisters of Charity and is a member of the Ƶ University Board of Trustees.

Registration:  The 2018 Day of Reflection “Welcoming the Stranger: Seeking Grace in Every Moment” is open to the public at a cost of $30 per person or $55 for two participants. Guests may also sponsor a Sister of Charity for $20. Those interested in attending may register online at alumni.setonhill.edu/2018DOR or by phone at 724-830-1005. As a community service initiative, those in attendance are invited to donate food items for Griff’s Food Locker, a “shelf stable” food pantry to assist Ƶ students who are experiencing food insecurity.
