2017 was a busy year for Wendi Walsh. It was the year she enlisted in the Pa. Army National Guard, spending 10 weeks at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and 16 weeks at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. While in Texas, she trained to become a combat medic and earned her Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.聽

In 2018, Wendi hasn鈥檛 slowed down. In January, she started the year as a 抖阴短视频 junior, having transferred the majority of her Westmoreland County Community College credits into 抖阴短视频鈥檚 Health Science Program. She plans to make a career of the military, and hopes to practice as a physician assistant in the National Guard after completing graduate school.聽

鈥淪HU has been amazing for me, honestly; starting with my enrollment, to transferring my credits (military and non-military), to helping me through the ROTC process.鈥

Her hard work and perseverance are paying off: on April 11 Wendi received a full scholarship 鈥 plus allowances for books and supplies 鈥 from the Army ROTC for the 2.5 years it will take to complete her bachelor of science degree at 抖阴短视频.聽

The scholarship, according to Major Timothy Moreau, 鈥渋s the culmination of a process that began several years ago, focusing on academic, physical fitness and leadership. Cadet Walsh can be extremely proud of her achievement as competition was keen.鈥

鈥淪HU has been amazing for me, honestly; starting with my enrollment, to transferring my credits (military and non-military), to helping me through the ROTC process,鈥 Wendi says. 鈥淚 chose the military, and this program, for all the opportunities it provides me with!鈥澛
