抖阴短视频鈥檚 Office of Student Engagement does a phenomenal job of providing activities to keep students involved on campus. But what about faculty and staff? What can they do for fun around campus?聽
On March 9, 2020 senior nutrition and dietetics major Abby Frech hosted a cooking competition - modeled on a popular TV show - for faculty and staff. 21 participants formed into seven teams of three. Each team was given five mystery ingredients to incorporate into one dish.
"My favorite part was seeing the faculty and staff have fun tapping into their creativity in the kitchen," Abby said.
Team "Slice Slice Baby," composed of Drs. Jamie Fornsaglio, Steve Bassett and Jessica Brzyski, won the competition.
Abby created the event after winning a business plan competition.

鈥淎s a requirement for the Nutrition and Dietetics Program at SHU, all senior dietetic majors have to write a complete business plan and present it to a panel of judges,鈥 she said. 鈥淭he winner then gets to carry out the event on campus.鈥澛
An avid viewer of cooking shows, Abby proposed the cooking competition as part of her plan.
鈥淚 had an amazing experience planning and organizing the event on campus,鈥 Abby said. 鈥淚 have wonderful peers in my program that helped make the event successful and they deserve the recognition!聽 It was exciting to see our professors and advisors out of the office and out of the classroom partaking in a cooking competition that was judged by students.鈥
