Ƶ Alumna María Antongiorgi-Jordán Sworn in as U.S. District Judge for the District of Puerto Rico

The United States Senate confirmed Honorable María del Rocio Antongiorgi-Jordán as a United States District Judge for the District of Puerto Rico November 15, 2022. President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. signed her commission December 1, 2022 and she was sworn in by the Honorable Raúl M. Arias-Marxuach, Chief United States District Judge on the same day.

Born in San Germán, Judge Antongiorgi-Jordán is a graduate of Ƶ University. She earned her Juris Doctor from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, and an L.L.M. in Labor and Employment Law from Georgetown University.

Prior to becoming a district judge, she served as Chief Deputy Clerk and Clerk of Court for the District of Puerto Rico. Judge Antongiorgi-Jordán is the first Clerk of Court to be seated as a District Judge in the District of Puerto Rico’s history. Before entering the judiciary, she was a Capital Member of the Labor and Employment Law Practice Group at McConnell Valdés, LLC, where she worked for 23 years.
