Art Therapy Alumnae Work to Support Mental Health in Local Community

Ƶ alum Allyse Rindone '14, MA '18 is using her skills to help students in the Allegheny Valley School District. The program, which started in the spring, has the art therapist and licensed counselor working weekly with students at Acmetonia Elementary School and Springdale High School to support their mental health by using art as an outlet.

Sonya Dugal MA '18 was featured in an article by Pittsburgh Magazine for her work with the Union Project in Pittsburgh. She serves on the board of directors at Union Project in Highland Park, and has set up a private practice inside the nonprofit to use art to help her clients with their mental wellness.

Dugal served in the Peace Corps in Ghana before arriving in Pittsburgh to earn a master of art in art therapy degree with a specialization in counseling through a Peace Corps Fellowship at Ƶ University.
